Friday 5 Name Game

RevHRod submitted the following questions for today's Friday Five entitled: What's in a name?

1.So how did you come up with your blogging name? And/or the name of your blog?
My blogging name was easy. I just used the same name that my church friends used to address me. The blog name was a little more of a challenge. I was so new to the internet at the time, that I had no clue how to blog or how to set one up. I thought I could gain some traffic, if I picked a name that would tie in with a current craze. But, I wanted my blog name to reflect it's content. Also, I tried several different names in the Google search box to see what words generated a lot of hits and appeared early in the search.

2.Are there any code names or secret identities in your blog? Any stories there?
Again, being very new to the internet shaped how I shared particulars of my family. Cowboy refers to my husband. KK refers to my youngest sister. She did not want any pictures of her family or their names included on my blog. CP is her son and my youngest nephew. CWGIII belongs to CHGreen of Gone with the Wreath. (She is the middle sibling) You may also find that he is referred to as Golden Boy. (I think she started that one.)

3.What are some blog titles that you just love? For their cleverness, drama, or sheer, crazy fun?
This Ain't New York Hands and Feet Janet's Planet Caffeinated Thoughts Boo Mama Gators, Skunkz, and Mudcats

4.What three blogs are you devoted to? Other than the RevGalBlogPals blog of course!
The Sound of Thunder, Voice of Vision , Beside the Point

5.Who introduced you to the world of blogging and why? CHGreen urged me to start a blog. I had shown little interest in the internet. Basically, I was a poor typist and had very little time for such frivolity. ( If that's not a word, it should be.) From time to time she would talk of her blogging friends like they were just next door. So, I became curious and began to read some of her posts. Then, I found myself following links and checking out the folks in her sidebar. Next thing I know, I was hooked.

My original intent was to put into print all of the Bible studies/lessons that I had already presented in my local church. I thought it would become a lasting resource for myself and others. I had no lack of material, but I struggled with getting formatted the way I wanted it. I too had learned that real long posts appeal to few. I had to learn to condense my material or post in series. The logistics of it all stifled my flow. But I digress......

I still enjoy reading blogs and posting. I just do a whole lot less of it these days. Time constraints have caused me to post videos, cartoons, excerpts of other blogs, and Friday Five's.(when I have a chance.)

Bonus question: Have you ever met any of your blogging friends? Where are some of the places you've met these fun folks?

I had the opportunity to visit with granny b of Compassion to Sympathize. I think I'm the one who got her started blogging. We have known one another for awhile. We used to attend the same church in New Mexico, but I live some 1200 miles away now.

BTW, I am trying to add you to my blogger roll, and it keeps saying that your last post was ten months ago. I don't know what gives!

Thank you ladies for stopping by my place. Since I've been lax with posting, I haven't had much company. Friday Fives are a lot of fun. Happy 3rd Anniversary to all RevGals.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by the Assembly of God Blogs. You made a comment about linking the Assembly of God Blogs button directly to the site. :0) It's coded to do that. So, click away on the button, it works! I appreciate you putting up the widget. It was fun creating.

Thanks for the suggestion, comments, and reading!

Enjoyed reading those. Good to see you're still here. I knew you'd like it once you acquired a taste for it.

Yes you did get me interested with the blogs. And I am glad you did.

Haven't been on computer much lately. Lots going on.

By the way, may I use your idea of sayings not found in the bible for a class of mine?

Love you and the cowboy.

thank y'all for stopping by my place.

granny b, help yourself to anything you find on my blog. For more of (not in the Bible) related material, go to www.blueletterbible.org. It is in my sidebar under "tools of the trade". They have a whole section on that subject.

Hey, Cala:
I just found your blog via Christian Carnival and I must say, I love your blog title! Also the line: Hetextedme. How clever!

I work at the AG headquarters in Springfield, and I had never heard of the AG Blogs site. Thanks for posting the link--I'm now following that blog.

Blessings to you, and I'll be visiting again.
